Libertarian Party of Queensland

Gary Biggs

Gary Biggs, Candidate for McPherson

The Libertarian Party is proud to announce Gary Biggs as its Candidate for McPherson. A straight-talking Gold Coast local with deep, 5th-Generation community ties, Gary is unapologetically patriotic and ready to take on the big issues facing the region with common sense, and a commitment to real solutions. Gary’s platform focuses on three key areas, lowering taxes for individuals, families and business, no bans and no subsidies in the energy market and freedom of speech.

As a long-time Small Business Owner and Pilot, Gary understands the burdens of operating in a high tax and over-regulated environment. “Politicians are fixing things that aren’t broken, while ignoring what is.” Gary is ready to shout from the rooftops 20% flat tax for everyone. He wants the residents of McPherson to have more prosperity and enjoy the lifestyle they have worked hard to create.

Gary fiercely supports cheap, reliable energy by ending subsidies, cutting red tape, and boosting competition to secure Australia’s energy future. “We need to keep the lights on in McPherson and stop future blackouts.” The Libertarians firmly believe that cheap energy is the way forward for all of Australia. It can be done and will happen if more Libertarians are elected to Parliament.

Free speech is the cornerstone of liberty and our Australian democracy. Gary will always defend your right to speak freely, ensuring Australians can express themselves without fear of censorship – online or in public. “Freedom should never be questioned or taken from us.” The Libertarian party does not support the recent trends in the UK where the government is using the police force to arrest people for Facebook posts . We need more speech rather than less. We need more democracy rather than authoritarianism. Debate is essential in a modern and free society.
